U.S. Navy Video Essay Competition

Win A Trip To A U.S. Navy Base

Enter the U.S. Navy Leadership Challenge by submitting a 1- to 3-minute video that profiles your own "Hometown Hero." A hometown hero is someone you consider to be a leader in your community. It should be someone who makes or has made a positive contribution to the community. Your nominee could be someone famous or someone who does not always get the recognition they deserve.

Winners of the video essay competition in each state will receive an all-expense-paid trip to a U.S. Navy base. The trip may include hands-on demonstrations, aircraft and ship tours and a chance to see how sailors live every day.

The contest is open to persons between the ages of 15 and 18 that live in the states of New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. One winner will be chosen per state. The deadline for submissions is May 15, 2008. Winners will be announced publicly on June 17, 2008.

For further details, complete rules and eligibility, visit www.navy.com/leadershipchallenge/. Or upload your video on YouTube.
