Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is leading a busload of Barack Obama supporters to New Hampshire on Saturday, and getting some grief for it at home.

Patrick and other Obama supporters are knocking on doors in Portsmouth. Patrick said even though Democrats are gaining momentum nationally, this is no time to ease up.

"The best thing in the world is to forget about the polls and keep working," the governor said.

"My level of motivation is extremely high," said Jane Hoffman, of Rye.

Republican leaders in Massachusetts said Patrick should be at his desk, working on the financial crisis. GOP spokesman Barney Keller said Patrick is putting partisan politics above Massachusetts.
